“The Crescent and the Cross”
Christianity is currently the largest religion in the world with about 33% of all people -- a percentage that has remained stable for decades. However, total estimates of Muslims range from 0.7 to 1.2 billion worldwide and 1.1 to 7 million in the U.S. About 21% of the world's population now follows Islam; the religion is currently in a period of rapid growth. If the current trend continues, Islam will become the most popular religion sometime in the mid-21 st century. Let us examine Islam: it's history, beliefs, and culture; so we can better understand how we should engage this problem as followers of Christ.
