For each day, you may select one workshop and one plenary session.

Day 1 - Wednesday, December 27

Day 2 - Thursday, December 28

A1: Witnessing to Family Members by Dr. Bianca Yip (English)

Back by popular demand, this workshop guides you to share your personal testimony with your family members as a tool to bring the Gospel to them. How can you effectively share the Good News to your parents and other family members without rejection? Here are some practical ways to present the gospel in a manner that can appeal to your relatives and loved ones. If you have unsaved family members, here’s one workshop that can help you better present the Gospel.

A2: Relationship with Parents by Dr. Simon Tsoi (English)

The breakdown of the traditional family has placed a great tension on the parent-child relationship. Children growing up today are barraged with a number of difficult issues, and it is increasingly important that they are able to communicate freely with their parents. Yet in many families, a broken relationship hinders many discussions. How can these shattered ties be reconciled? And as future parents, how can we prepare ourselves to raise a good family?

A3: Quality time with God by Ms. Jane Yu (Mandarin)

Are you struggling with your quiet time with God? Quality time with God is indispensable in developing a healthy and intimate relationship with Him. A daily quality time of Bible study, prayer and meditation are the necessary discipline for us to grow to be a mature Christian. Come and find out how to enjoy your meeting with God every day.

A4: Seeking God’s Will by Pastor John Moy (Cantonese)

We are all seeking God's will for our lives. Does it mean He will send us a clear signal? Will He whisper into our ears? Or will we get some special feelings? If we have some good options, how will we discern which one is His will? If the Bible has no specific instruction, what should we do?

This workshop offers Biblical guidelines to help us answer these confusing questions and confidently move under His plan. It's our life lesson to sense God's will and live our life to please Him with joy and peace.

A5: Spiritual Discipline by Dr. Richard Yen (English)

Meditation, fasting, prayer, Bible Study, and worship are all part of spiritual discipline. You've heard of these and probably know what they are. Keeping a regular spiritual discipline can help you grow. Do you want to be recharged in your spirit and learn how to improve your walk with God? How can you bring these into your life, be transformed and in turn show the abundance of God to others? This workshop will help you to improve your spiritual walk and develop spiritual discipline.

General Plenary
Christian Perspective on Recent Life Science Discoveries (English)

Recent developments in the life sciences have presented daunting challenges to all of us in the areas relating to life and death. Successful cloning techniques in mammals have raised the possibility of not only creating animals suitable for human organ transplants but also the possibility to clone humans ostensibly for the same purpose. Stem cells obtained from human embryos may regenerate damaged nerve tissues responsible for much human suffering. Some Christians may even consider euthanasia a humane and economic option for patients inflicted with painful and incurable diseases. This session will help Christians to articulate their positions with understanding and compassion, without appearing to impede progress to alleviate pain and suffering.

Speaker: Dr. Richard Yen

Student Plenary
How to Deal With Materialism (English)

It's everywhere--nice cars, expensive clothing, pagers, cell phones, stocks--these and many other things are signs of a world controlled by materialism, money and image. The question is: do you have a healthy perspective of materialism, or are you controlled by it?

As Christians, we are reminded not to conform to this world (Romans 12:1-2). Indeed, this means we need to be aware of worldly influences and how it affects us. How do we live in this world and not become of it? Where do we draw the line? This plenary will define materialism, point out its dangers and most importantly, give insight on how to steer clear from worldly and materialistic influences.

Speaker: Pastor Tim Leung

Young Adult Plenary
Money, Sex and Power: Overcoming Temptations (English)

Money, sex and power are the major issues that have confronted the human race. These issues demand us to make moral choices. This young adult session will challenge us to face the ethnical realities of our daily choices. The goal of the session is to help us know how to live faithfully in today’s culture in these areas.

Speaker: Pastor John Liu
