Thursday, December 27

General Plenary
Identifying Cults
Speaker: Cecilia Yau

Why are we seeing more and more Christian-like teachings today--but not teachings according from the Bible?  Why do these teachings attract so many people in our society? We are facing many different beliefs and false teachings today than ever before. How do we Christians discern if they are coming from God? The Bible has warned us that there will be many false teachers. With so many different beliefs--are we supposed to be tolerant of such religious teachings?

This plenary session will help us to understand these new religions and discern the truth. Learn how to share the truth with friends and family members who have been confused by these teachings.

Friday, December 28

Student Plenary
Developing A Kingdom Value System
Speaker: Gary Stanton

When college students enter the "real world," they're excited about two or three things: career, a special friend or marriage, and stuff. You know...stuff that you can buy because of that new job! They're really not sure why all this is exciting--they've never been there before, but they can hardly wait...only to be disillusioned in a few short years. Why?!

Very simple, really. Even the most wonderful job and "God's best" mate will not bring lasting happiness apart from putting Kingdom values ahead of our careers and relationships! Unfortunately, by the time most believers figure that out (if at all), they've wasted 10-20 years of their lives, and have made commitments that make Kingdom involvement more difficult. This message will challenge college students and graduates to begin today, developing a Kingdom values system, and to carry those values throughout their lives. This will result in a rich and meaningful career, marriage & family, and involvement in the advancement of God's Kingdom.

Young Adult Plenary
Graduation, Work--What's Next?
Speaker: Wayne Fong

Mid-terms and finals are just memory. Now that you've graduated from school, started your career--and maybe even found a mate--what's next?  There must be more to life than chasing a bigger house, a better car, or even serving in church (or changing diapers at home). What else does God have in store for us? How then shall we live?
