With a distinguished panel of speakers and a rich variety of programs--all in the beautiful facilities of Mount Hermon Conference Center, Winter Conference is surprisingly affordable for both students and young adults.

Choose one workshop per day. There is are two workshops in Chinese each day. Cantonese workshops are A3 and B4 and the Mandarin workshops are A5 and B6.

Thursday, December 27

A1. Leading Successful Congregational Worship

All Christians desire good worship experience. When worship is led successfully, it is a reflection of more than just "good music". It is that precious time when God encounters His people while they are still on earth, a slice of heaven and a glimpse of the Eternal Home. In this workshop, we will take a broad overview of the elements that contribute to successful worship time, define the responsibilities of the worship leaders, and offer insights in a few critical areas that are often overlooked by today's churches in respect to worship leading. This workshop is designed with all "worship leaders" in mind (instrumentalists, vocalists, sound technicians).

A2. Understanding Chinese Cults

Why are we seeing more and more Christ-like teachings--without referencing the Bible? Why do these new teachings attract so many people? What can we learn about fast-growing religions like Falun Gong? The Bible has warned us that there will be many false teachers. With so many different beliefs--are we supposed to be tolerant of all religious teachings? This plenary session will help us to test these new religions and discern the truth. Learn how to share the truth with friends or family members who have been confused by these teachings.

A3. Understanding Male/Female Communications

Speaker: Victor and Sylvia Chan

From the very beginning, God created men differently from women. After thousands of years--many of us still have a challenging time understanding how to communicate with the opposite sex. In this workshop you'll learn how to relate to each other in a relationship, work, family, school or ministry context.

A4. Dealing with Conflicts within the Church

Conflicts within the Church body can be very painful. Resolving differenced among people or policies is never easy. Instead of ignoring these problems in your church or fellowship, learn how to get the proper Biblical perspective. This workshop will teach the tools that can help you mend fences and build bridges.

A5. Sharing Christ Without Fear
Language: Mandarin
Speaker: Dr. Richard Yen

There are lots of reasons to fear sharing your faith: cultural differences, generation gaps, peer pressures and many more. As a young believer it can be especially difficult to talk about your faith with non-believing friends--without fearing how they might tease you or avoid talking with you. How can you overcome this fear? This workshop provides practical tips on how to overcome your fears and learn valuable techniques to become a successful messenger.

A6. Financial Stewardship

Speaker: Sau-Wing Lam

How faithful have you been with the wealth that God has entrusted to you? Whether you have much or just a little, workshop speaker Sau-Wing Lam (retired banker and Christian talk show host) will teach us how to righteously manage our personal and family finances. He'll answer common questions, clarify common misconceptions and give practical advice on managing your income, expenses and investments. Learn how to be a more prudent steward while improving your financial outlook.

B1. Developing Godly Men and Women

God gave men and women different needs, priorities, strengths and weaknesses. Have you been faithfully fulfilling them and righteously edifying each other? In this workshop, workshop speaker Bruce Brown will teach you how to best utilize your potentials to fulfill your role that will exult our Lord. From daily to church lives and from physical to emotional support, you will definitely become the true man and woman of the 22nd century!

B2. Christian Ethics

Our non-Christian friends are always quick to point out the inconsistencies in our Christian walk. To live the life of integrity, we need to match our lives to the faith we profess. Christian integrity is much more than following a list of do's and don'ts. We need communicate our relationship with God and who He is to us. Come and learn the scriptural principals on how to discern and live a life of integrity.

B3. Defending Your Faith: Overcoming Difficult Questions About Christianity

Many of us don't feel we could ever answer rational criticisms of Christian faith and leave apologetics to the "experts." The key to defending your faith is to understand that even the most challenging questions really just rely on a few basic assumptions. This powerful workshop will help you to develop appropriate responses. Instead of dodging questions, learn how to address them in a way that will open the hearts of skeptics to the Holy Spirit.

Getting a little physically intimate won't hurt right? We're getting married in the future anyways. What's the difference between lust and love? How far can I go in order to keep a pure dating relationship? When should I break up? 

Under the influence of the world's value system, it can be tough to respond to these questions. This workshop is will help you  to answer these and other relationship questions by looking into what guidelines that God has established for dating and courtship.
