Pastor Steve Hong originally presented this
workshop on August 3, 2002 at the WCCCC Summer Workshops.
Success in Street Evangelism
Do you need to perform the miracle of 5 fish-2 loafs as Jesus did to
attract audience for the Kingdom of Heaven? Or do you need to speak in
tongues like Peter and the disciples during the Pentecost to lead
someone to Christ? This workshop shows you effective and creative way to
bring good news to any strangers you meet on street—whether at hometown
or on mission trip! Sharpen you fishing skills here!
Pastor Steve Hong was born and raised
in SF and grew up as an extremely shy kid. Upon graduation from college in
'91, he worked in Silicon Valley as an electrical engineer. There, Steve
learned to integrate his faith with his work and developed a new passion
to build up others in Christ. In '93, he left his job for the ministry
through work with Campus Crusade for Christ, Partners International,
pastoring in L.A., and study at Talbot seminary. In these eight years, God
exposed him to discipleship and evangelistic ministry stateside, in the
inner-city, drug-rehabs here and overseas, Central Asia, and East Asia.
More than anything, God used these years to refine his "Heart of Worship."
With new passions, Steve moved back to the Bay Area in 2001 with hopes to
build up communities of faith on mission. He is currently pastoring Christ
Family Church in South San Francisco. Steve shares the journey of marriage
with Cathy.
